Integrated and Holistic Medicine in London

Do you think that conventional medicine alone is not helping enough with your problem(s)?
Do you feel that your doctor is just focusing on your symptoms rather than on the causes of your concerns?
Are you concerned about the side effects of your conventional treatment? Are you wondering if something more “natural” could help you?
Do you feel that you are not being listened to when you explain your issues to your doctor?

I can help you!

What is Integrated Medicine?

Integrated Medicine (also called Integrative Medicine) is a modern concept of complementary and alternative medicine which refers to the combination of conventional medicine with complementary medicine, such as acupuncture, homoeopathy, reflexology, hypnotherapy or mindfulness, for instance. It emphasises the combination rather than substitution. By combining different health care modalities, side effects of medication can be minimised or even avoided and health and healing are maximised.

Holistic Medicine focuses on you as a whole person, your individuality and includes your body, mind and spirit. Although we are all human beings, you have your own way to react to external influences such as virus, bacteria, toxins or even emotional conflicts, and you deserve an individualised holistic therapeutical approach.

Integrative Medicine also values the relationship between healthcare professionals and patients. Communication, empathy and attention are some of its most imperative requirements. Understanding your concern(s), and going to the roots of the problem(s) makes addressing the causes much more effective.

Holistic Medicine London - Addressing the Causes

A holistic and integrated medicine approach to your healthcare.

Let me help you where traditional medicine has failed you.

Holistic Medicine Clinic, London

Integrated medicine is an evidence-based CAM using a holistic health approach, unlikely conventional medicine that addressed your symptoms and not the underlying causes.

A whole person is a combination of physical, mental and emotional facets. Our bodies are like clocks, with the different parts working synergistically. If one part malfunctions, the rest are being affected. In addition, our mind and our emotions also have an impact on our bodies. This is why holistic medicine might be the answer you are seeking. Integrated medicine is the integration of conventional medicine together with complementary approaches. It may also be called holistic medicine, since it looks at the person as a whole. Holistic medicine will explore the mental, emotional and physical states of you and help you to regain the missing balance in your life.

Although both approaches are categorised under alternative and complementary medicine,  functional medicine is not the same as Integrated Medicine. The integrated approach is evidence-based combining traditional medicine and complementary care. You can read more on our blog here.

Alternative and Complementary Medicine, London

Many people seek help for their health issues using healthcare approaches developed outside conventional medicine. When people are referring to these approaches, use the terms alternative and complementary medicine interchangeably. These two terms, however, have different meanings.

Complementary medicine is a treatment being used to complement current conventional medicine and therefore can be combined or integrated with the current medical treatment, and therefore it is called integrated medicine or integrative medicine.

Alternative medicine is a treatment being used in place of conventional medicine.

So with the above definitions, complementary medicine is not alternative medicine.

Going back in time, in the 1970s and 1980s, various healthcare approaches provided as an alternative to conventional medicine became known collectively as “alternative medicine.” Slowly, however, alternative medicine started to be used alongside and combined with conventional medicine. “Complementary” therefore describes this relation, which can explain some of the confusion that surrounds the subject.
